20th-21st October 2011 | Brussels (Belgium)

On 20 and 21 October, the Polish Presidency of the Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament will organise a conference on the next multiannual framework (2014 – 2020). The conference’s main aim is to engage in a debate with representatives of national parliaments.

Background:

The Commission presented its proposal for the 2014-2020 multiannual financial framework on 29 June 2011. As the negotiation process on the proposal has started within the Council (to be followed by the European Parliament’s position), and as the financial framework is as much about political priorities as budgetary issues for the next 7 years, it is important to involve national parliaments in the debate.

The opening session and the plenary session will be open to the public.
