This hearing is being organised by the European Economic and Social Committee. It aims to give voice to civil society representatives dealing with the integration of Roma. A number of experts in the field has been invited to present their views on the specific issue of education and training in relation to the Roma. Afterwards there will be a debate that will lead to ideas for concrete actions.
Description
The hearing is organised in the framework of the EESC opinion on ‘Intercultural dialogue and the Roma’. The hearing will take from 9.00 to 13.00, and will address three issues:
- European policies towards Roma education;
- Integration of Roma through education;
- Integration of Roma through training.
Several interesting speakers, among which a representative of the Hungarian Presidency, a representative from the DG Education and Culture of the European Commission and a Member of the European Parliament, have been invited. Registration
Registration will close the 6th of January. The European Economic and Social Committee cannot cover participants’ travel and subsistence costs, but there is no attendance fee. Please use the registration form attached to this meeting announcement.
